Case Study - PFAS Destruction on Industrial Site
Invicta Water was provided sample of the process water from a Pulp and Paper Mill in the tissue market.
As with other current industrial projects, Invicta Water received and treated the water without knowledge of PFAS types or ability to optimize the removal or destruction process. received and treated the water without knowledge of any contaminants or PFAS that may exist in the water. Further, without knowing what was in the water, Invicta Water’s system was utilized for a minimal operation, without optimizing for contaminant destruction.
Key Results
- The water sample was tested using EPA-approved testing methods ASTM 1633 and ASTM D8421/EPA8327. The sample was found to contain over 350 ppt of PFAS, including 56.7 PPT of PFOA, one of the EPA’s two recently designated hazardous substances.
- The water sample was run through Invicta water’s system for a minimal operation, and completely eliminated PFOA to a non-detect level.
- Invicta Water was able to demonstrate that its proprietary solution would be able to optimally eliminate PFAS for their process water, and do so without creating any byproducts or toxic waste in the process.
